Welcome to Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 100,000 people living in an area of 86 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose membership consist of volunteer members and supplement career staffing that is provided by the county.

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1925, to provide fire protection to the town of Upper Marlboro and the surrounding communities. Upper Marlboro is the county seat for Prince George's County. The town is home to the County Administration Building and County Courthouse as well as many other County Government offices.

 

8TH ANNUAL "CRUZIN MAIN" CAR, TRUCK, & BIKE SHOW

Saturday, August 24, 2013  The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department & Ledo Pizza host the 8th Annual "CRUZIN MAIN" Car, Truck, & Bike show, benefiting the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department & the Upper Marlboro Lions Club. The date will be Saturday Night, August 24, 2013. Registration will be at 4:00pm at Ledo's Pizza, which is located at 14611 Main Street. The show will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Entry fees will be $20 for cars & trucks & $15 for bikes. Awards will be presented at 9:00pm. There will also be many awards, gift cards, & prizes. TK820 GOES TO HOUSE FIRE IN BOWIE

Tuesday, April 16, 2013  On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 @ 1633 hours, PSC dispatched a Box Alarm which included TK820 to 15500 Porsche Court for a House Fire with a child trapped. Units arrived on the scene and advised one story, single family dwelling, with heavy fire & smoke showing. TK820 reported to Side Charlie & conducted a Rescue Search inside the home. Fire was knocked & both primaries & secondaries were negative. Command advised there were NO persons trapped. TK820 provided and worked major overhaul. All units wrapped up & went in service. Command was terminated. There were NO injuries on the scene.

     



 

BR820 GOES TO CHARLES COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS

Tuesday, April 2, 2013  On Tuesday, April 2, 2013 @ 1600 hours, Brush 820 was dispatched to "Mutual Aide" in Charles County at the Charles County Fairgrounds. The call was for a Building Fire that quickly escalated into a 2-Alarm Brush Fire. All area jurisdictions were utilized for this operation. It consisted of Charles, Prince George's, St. Mary's, Naval District of Washington, Virginia, & the District of Columbia. There were 150 Firefighters on scene & working. The weather & the high winds played a key role in this operation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Brush 820 cleared the scene & was back in quarters at 2140 hours.

     



 

PIA IN 1ST DUE FOR RESCUE SQUAD 820

Monday, April 1, 2013  On Monday, April 1, 2013 @ 0304 hours, Communications dispatched SQ820 & A820 to a PIA at the intersection of Fenway Lane & Beckenham Place. Units arrived on the scene and found a auto into a tree. Nobody was injured. Property Damage Only! Both units went into service.

   


 

RESCUE SQUAD 820 EXTRICATION DRILL

Saturday, March 30, 2013  On Saturday, March 30, 2013, both the Marlboro Volunteers, Ritchie Volunteers, & a few of the Local 1619 participated in Rescue Squad Extrication Drill. It was a great day of training & we all received a lot of hands on with the tools from the squad. We all would like to thank Brandywine Auto for letting us use there cars & yard for the exercise. The next drill will be held on April 20, 2013 at the same location & time. Hope to see you there.

     



 

RESCUE SQUAD 820 EXTRICATION DRILL

Saturday, March 30, 2013  ***SQUAD DRILL*** There will be a Rescue Squad Drill on Saturday March 30, 2013 & April 20, 2013 from 0930 hours to 1300 hours at the Brandywine Auto on Brown Station Road. All members are needed for the apparatus & the extrication exercises that will be performed. There is sign-up sheets at Company#20. Hope to see you there.

     



 

TK820 GOES TO KENNEBEC STREET / 5TH BATTALION

Tuesday, March 26, 2013  On Tuesday, March 26, 2013 @ 1920 hours, TK820 was dispatched to 1128 Kennebec Street #101 for the Apartment Fire. When units arrived on the scene, they advised of 2 bedrooms off on the 2nd floor. TK820 arrived & reported to Side Charlie with DCFD-Truck#8 & completed a secondary search. Command was terminated at 2023 hours & all units packed up & went home.

     



 

OUTSIDE / BRUSH FIRE IN BRANDYWINE

Saturday, March 23, 2013  On Saturday, March 23, 2013 @ 1406 hours, BR820 was dispatched to 13517 Tower Road in Brandywine for a Outside Fire / Brush Fire. Units arrived on the scene & found what was reported & two large piles of tires that were off as well. Both Prince George's & Charles County units were on the scene & working. Other jurisdictions were called & dispatched as well. That included Andrews Air Force Base (Foam Unit), Maryland Health Department, & Maryland Forestry. One injury was reported from the incident. All units & crews extinguished the fire and packed up. Command was terminated at 1810 hours.

     



 

E820 RUNS MUTUAL AIDE TO CALVERT COUNTY

Thursday, March 21, 2013  On Thursday, March 21, 2013 @ 1332 hours, E820 was dispatched for a house fire at 2165 Chaneyville Road in Calvert County. When units arrived on the scene, they advised that they had a 2 story balloon-frame resident with heavy smoke showing from all 4 sides of the house. Crews worked aggressively but due to the weakened & sagging floors crews had to evacuate. Water supply was a major issue. The original assignment that was dispatched was companies from Dunkirk, Huntingtown, North Beach, Prince Frederick, Deale, & Marlboro. Several Tankers were added to the call as well, which consisted of Calvert, Anne Arundel, St. Mary's, & Prince George's County.

     



 

HOUSE FIRE IN COMPANY#45'S FIRST DUE

Wednesday, March 20, 2013  On Wednesday March 20, 2013 @ 1422 hours, PSC dispatched a "House Fire" at 6350 South Osborne Road. Units that were dispatched were E823, E820, E825B, E837B, E843B, TK829, TK826, SQ827, A826, BO887, & BO883. VC820 responded as well. Due to the rural area, the Water Supply Task Force was dispatched which pulled TN845, TN839, TN823, TN74, & WS825. VC820 arrived on the scene & took Command & advised it was a 1 story Single Family Dwelling with smoke showing & a room off on Side Charlie. Primaries & Secondaries were negative. Fire was knocked & two occupants were checked.Command was terminated at 1623 hours.
