Welcome to Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 100,000 people living in an area of 86 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose membership consist of volunteer members and supplement career staffing that is provided by the county.

The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1925, to provide fire protection to the town of Upper Marlboro and the surrounding communities. Upper Marlboro is the county seat for Prince George's County. The town is home to the County Administration Building and County Courthouse as well as many other County Government offices.

 

Waysons Corner Warehouse Fire

Wednesday, March 12, 2014   On March 12, 2014 at approximately 8:15 pm, units from Marlboro 20 and 45 responded to a working fire at the Tobacco Warehouse on Waysons Corner that was being torn down. It was a small fire, which was contained quickly by Company 20 members. On scene were probationary firefighter Robers, fire LT Mark Wyvill, firefighter Tony Smith, firefighter Danny Drotter, fire LT Mike Helmer, Chief 45A Beavers, Chief 20B Hunter. Units were Engine 202, Engine 451, and Tanker 45.

     



 

45 Area Chimney Fire

Sunday, February 16, 2014  Company 20 was alerted for a house/chimney fire in Company 45's area on Sea Gull Court at 2216 hours. Engine 45 went os with fire showing passing command. As it looked to be the back of the house on fire, further investigation showed only the chimney was on fire. E845 and RE840 advanced a lines inside while TK825 and SQ820 opened the interior walls up. Assignment was shortly scaled back holding E845, RE840, TK825, and SQ820 for further overhaul. Units went in service around 2245 hours.

     



 

Christmas Day Fire

Wednesday, December 25, 2013   On Wednesday, December 25, 2013, PSC dispatched a box alarm for a reported house fire at 14901 Rolling Meadows Rd. Engine 452 and Engine 204 arrived on the scene to find a one story, single family home with fire showing from the garage and roof. The two engine crews, working together, started an aggressive interior attack but due to heavy fire conditions and this being a non hydrant area, command evacuated the house. Once water supply was set up, crews were sent back in to open up and extinguish fire in the bravo and charlie quadrants of the house. Crews remained on the scene for several hours overhauling and extinguishing hot spot. The Southern Division Chief had command, Chief 20 had Division 1 and Battalion 7 Chief 25 with water supply.

Beechtree Fire

Wednesday, December 18, 2013   On December 18, 2013, PSC dispatched units for a reported house fire in the 2000 block of Galeshead Drive. Engine 204 arrived on the scene to find a two story townhouse with a car fully involved in the garage. Crews made a quick knock on the fire while Tower 43's crew opened up and checks for extension. Command scale the incident back to 1&1.

   


 

Marlboro VFD Cadets

Thursday, December 5, 2013   The Marlboro VFD Cadets are recruiting for new members. Cadets are ages 12 to 15 and participate in weekly drills, training, and station events. They do not participate in the live fire actual incidents but train so when they reach the age of 16 they are prepared to enter into full membership.

     



 

First Due House Fire in Marlboro Meadows

Tuesday, November 26, 2013  On November 26, 2013, PCS dispatched a box alarm for a reported house on fire in the 3700 of Endsley Pl. Engine 202 arrived on the scene to find a two story single family home with fire showing from sides Charlie and Delta. The crew, while making an aggressive interior attack, encountered heavy fire on the first floor extending to the second. The crew operated on the scene for four hours extinguishing hotspots and overhaul.

     
 



 

Squad goes to house fire in Bowie

Friday, November 22, 2013 19:13 On Friday, November 22, 2013, PSC dispatched a Box Alarm which included SQ820 to 15500 Powell Lane for a house fire. Crews set up RIC on side Alpha. Also assisted with ladders, controlled utilities, and lights to side Charlie. 

   


 

PIA in 1st due for Rescue Squad 820

Friday, November 22, 2013 18:48 On Friday, November 22, 2013 Communications dispatched SQ820 and A823 to Ritchie Marlboro Road and Old Marlboro Pike for a PIA. Crews found two car accident with 2 occupants injured and assisted A823 with patients.

   


 

8TH ANNUAL "CRUZIN MAIN" CAR, TRUCK, & BIKE SHOW

Saturday, August 24, 2013  The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department & Ledo Pizza host the 8th Annual "CRUZIN MAIN" Car, Truck, & Bike show, benefiting the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department & the Upper Marlboro Lions Club. The date will be Saturday Night, August 24, 2013. Registration will be at 4:00pm at Ledo's Pizza, which is located at 14611 Main Street. The show will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Entry fees will be $20 for cars & trucks & $15 for bikes. Awards will be presented at 9:00pm. There will also be many awards, gift cards, & prizes. TK820 GOES TO HOUSE FIRE IN BOWIE

Tuesday, April 16, 2013  On Tuesday, April 16, 2013 @ 1633 hours, PSC dispatched a Box Alarm which included TK820 to 15500 Porsche Court for a House Fire with a child trapped. Units arrived on the scene and advised one story, single family dwelling, with heavy fire & smoke showing. TK820 reported to Side Charlie & conducted a Rescue Search inside the home. Fire was knocked & both primaries & secondaries were negative. Command advised there were NO persons trapped. TK820 provided and worked major overhaul. All units wrapped up & went in service. Command was terminated. There were NO injuries on the scene.
