Kidde Smoke Detector Recall Information
Recently the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department has had several inquiries about the Smoke Detector Recall here is the information you need to know about the recall:
SMOKE DETECTOR RECALL INFORMATION
The Kidde Corporation has recalled the Kidde PI 2010 and the PI 9010 dual sensor smoke detector (Photoelectric / Ionization). The Recall was due to a yellow protective cap in limited instances that may have been left on one of the two smoke sensors in affected products during the manufacturing process, which could compromise the smoke alarms’ ability to detect smoke.
This IS NOT the detector that was or is being distributed through the 311 FREE Smoke Detector Program in Prince Georges County. Kidde has had all retailers and whole sale companies remove the recalled detectors from store shelves.
The recall did not include combination fire and carbon monoxide detectors.
