Law Enforcement United ride stop at the Marlboro VFD
Today the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department hosted a rest stop for the Law Enforcement United Bike Riders, who were in-route to Washington DC. The Membership and President Donald Strine (who could not be present today) opened the station to the riders to use the facility for rest and rehydration before continuing to Andrews Air Force Base, then to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to meet with more riders who then would ride to Washington DC. To welcome the riders members of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, Chief Robert Beavers, and 1st Vice President Jeffrey Beavers, and career staff were present. The riders route coordinator Pat Daily who had contacted the Marlboro VFD a few weeks ago coordinated the route to stop at the department.
After their rest and rehydration stop the riders and escorts set out to Andrews Air Force Base, and in a show of Unity between fire and police members of the Marlboro VFD joined the escorts for the riders to Joint Base Andrews.
