The president was notfied on the evening of September 13th of his passing. James Edward Cross, better known as Eddie to most has been battling Lung Cancer for several years. Eddie served as a volunteer for many years with the Marlboro VFD, the PG County fire department, the Maryland Fire Chiefs Association, and the Maryland State Firemen’s Association, and did so with honor and distinction for many years. It did not matter what the cause when he was called to help with everything from from help with legislation issues in Annapolis, helping out at the events in Ocean City State Convention, or just assisting the chiefs association with the many events he never turned his back. Eddie was there to help on fire service issues with no regrets.

He will be missed by all.
