Clarence Eugene Rector Jr., was a US Army Veteran, and like many members had family ties to the fire department, and was a long time member working his way through the ranks, becoming the chief in 1962 and served through 1964.  He was born on May 7, 1923 and was laid to rest on June 8, 1999, with his final resting place being the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, in Cheltenham, Maryland.
