On June 15, 1978 James M. O’Connor was part of the engine crew, responding to a call in Anne Arundle County.  While responding the Engine was stuck at the intersection of Route 301 and Croom Station Road.  James M. O’Connor was killed in the accident.  Volunteer Firefighter James M. O’Connor was the 25th line of duty death in Prince George’s County.
