John Edwin Smith

Past Chief, Past President, Life Member

John Edwin Smith was a member of the Marlboro VFD beginning in the 50’s and held a variety of offices before becoming the Chief of the department in 1965, his dedication to the department continued as he worked his way through multiple administrative offices becoming the vice president for the years 1970 and 1971, then elected to be president where he served from 1972 through 1976.  According to records he was born on August 25, 1930 and was laid to rest April 27, 1995.  His final resting place is the Saint Joseph’s Cemetery Pomfret, in Charles County, Md.
