Robert Hall Simms Jr. has strong family ties to the Marlboro VFD, being one of many family members in the department, he served many positions within the department and serving as Chief in 1965.  On July 22, 2010 the department was notified of his passing.  He was the beloved husband of the late Wilma Simms; father of Robert Hall Simms, III and Kimberly (James) Rector; grandfather of Dawn Simms and Faith Rector; great-grandfather of Serenity Simms; brother of Albert (Doris), Anthony (Wanda) Simms and Elvida (Butch) McKnight.  Services to celebrate his life and dedication to the Marlboro VFD were held at St. Mary of the Assumption, and his final resting place being the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Maryland.
